about us

Silver Pines Therapy is a small private practice in Cedar Crest providing occupational therapy services for children and adults. Judy Deinema, OTR/L, owner has been an East Mountain resident and occupational therapist since 1996. After 12 years of private practice in Albuquerque she is thrilled to be bringing her many specialties and services back to the East Mountains. You will find Silver Pines Therapy to be a quiet setting with a warm and personalized touch making you feel at home during your treatment session. A small but rich sensory gym is in place for the kids to explore and develop their sensory systems as well as their coordination, gross and fine motor skills. In addition to sensory and motor work Judy offers vision therapy, a program to develop coordination skills of the eyes.

Yes, our eyes must work in coordination with each other just like our arms and legs. If you or your child is struggling with reading, hand writing, balance or coordination skills it may be more an issue of visual coordination than motor coordination. On the quieter side of the office is a space for the profound work of Dr. John Upledger andJean-Pierre Barral, craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation. Each of these modalities use very light touch techniques to release restrictions within the soft tissues of the body and brain. This works to complement the body’s own natural healing process and improve functioning of the central nervous system, organs and reduce or eliminate pain from nerve and/or structural mal-alignments in the body. This work is provided for children and adults alike.
